Tidings Demands Pinellas County Attorney Jewel White, School Board Attorney David Koperski to Resign
By: Tidings Media
LARGO, Fla. - PRLog -- Tidings Media, a third party news reporting agency with no pending business or issues before the parties is demanding that Pinellas County Attorney Jewel White and Pinellas County School Board Attorney David Koperski resign or be removed from their positions.
Jewel White erroneously gave the Pinellas County Commission legal advice to pursue legal action against the legislative and executive divisions of the State of Florida in a matter with direct personal conflicts of interest for at least one county commissioner that stood to benefit financially personally from White's advice. White advised the Pinellas County Commission to take legal action against the legislative and executive divisions of Florida Government using taxpayer money to subsidize a legal escalation against the State. The case was ultimately dismissed after White learned that she directed her legal team to sue the wrong party. The party that should have been sued would have been a direct conflict of interest for White, who represented not only the County Commission but also the party that should have been the target of the litigation. White then advised the county commission to take no further legal action, protecting her other client from exposure and litigation. At no time did White recuse herself, nor did she publicly advise the county commissioner who stood to benefit financially from her legal advice.
Pinellas County School Board Attorney David Koperski has failed to properly and publicly advise the Pinellas County School Board on potential litigation in a situation that perfectly parallels the case that the Attorney General of the State of Arizona brought against the Scottsdale Unified School District, (see https://www.dailywire.com/news/arizona-attorney-general-sues-school-board-that-allegedly-sought-to-silence-outspoken-parents?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=dwbrand)
The Pinellas County, Florida School Board plans to implement a policy that reaches further towards restricting the voices of parents during public participation windows at Pinellas County School Board meetings. Citizens have asked the board, the board attorney, and individual board members to intercede and enforce constitutional rights to address elected officials, but under the advisement of Koperski the board intend to press forward with restrictions on first amendment rights. Koperski's lack of proper advisement subjects the district to potential financial liability.
The Pinellas County Attorney has NOT correctly publicly briefed the School Board on relevant case law, including a parallel Federal case (Pennsylvania School Board. Douglas Marshall, et al. v Peter C. Amuso, et al. Case No. 21-4336.)
Tidings is requesting that oversight government bodies open investigations into these claims, and when proven factual take the appropriate action to remove and replace these advisory position attorneys with legal representation for the County that will follow State and Federal laws.
